If you are in a same sex relationship and want to start a family, Fertility Tasmania can offer guidance and support to help you create your family.
Currently Fertility Tasmania does not have a supply of donor sperm, and does not currently offer this as a service. To assist and facilitate lesbian couples and single women in accessing donor sperm or recruitment of their own donor, our association with the ‘Monash IVF Group’ means we can refer you to a partnering clinic to help you in your quest to access donor sperm to help achieve your dream of having a family.
Treatment with donor sperm many include Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) or In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
Athough we do not currently provide donor procedures in Tasmania, it is important to be aware that we are regulated by the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008.
Donors, recipients and the people born as a result of donation have legal rights and responsibilities. A person conceived by way of donation has the right to obtain identifying information about their donor once they turn 18 or if their parents apply and the donors consents.
At fertility Tasmania we always act in the best interest of the child.
